Ontario Winter Guide

For a number of years , the Ontario Ministry of Tourism published the Ontario Winter Guide, a comprehensive listing of winter facilities in the province which offered skiing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, ice fishing and other cold weather activities.

Six seasons ago, officials with Ontario Tourism, in discussion with the Ontario Snow Resorts Association and the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs, determined that the time was right to revive this publication as the premier information piece to be made available free of charge to the public seeking information about what to do and where to go for winter fun in the province.

Acting on this, they encouraged AdverMap as the experienced publisher of the popular Ontario Ski and Snowboard Map to publish the first edition of the Ontario Winter Guide in 7 years. The newly redesigned book was produced in full colour, and as well as including listings of winter facilities by Tourist Region, featured advertising and sectional maps locating these facilities by name. We further expanded the scope of its coverage by including activities and attractions such as theatre, music, museums, and much more.

Because of the richness of its information content, the Tourism Ontario Travel Counselors used the Ontario Winter Guide as the preferred publication they handed to people requesting winter activity information.

AdverMap has continued to publish this very popular annual Guide. Look for the 8th Edition at any of the Ontario Travel Centres in November 2007.

The Winter Guide is available free of charge at Ontario Travel Information Centres
